I just wrote a new knowledge base article to cover different ways to export embroidery designs as graphics or text with StitchBuddy on macOS. Some of these options might be unknown - and for your convenience here comes a simple copy & paste of the article:

There are several options to export an embroidery design as a graphic - either PDF or JPEG:

If you need a detail sheet of the design, including threads, stitch count and more, I'd go with a print-out into a PDF file. This procedure is not specific to StitchBuddy, but applies to every macOS app capable of printing: Just use the "File" - "Print…" command and click on the "PDF" button at the bottom of the window (or its down caret): You can enter a file name and the actual print-out is saved as a PDF, considering all print options.
If you' like to export as a simple graphic file, you can just drag 'n' drop the design from StitchBuddy's edit view to the Finder, e.g. your macOS Desktop. Make sure no selection mode is active, otherwise the drag operation would probably select stitches. This export is reflecting only the design including the background color, but no view options like the grid or stitch area.
You can directly copy and paste a design's picture or text description, e.g. into a new mail: If no stitches are selected in StitchBuddy, the "Copy" command puts a representation of the current design into the clipboard. Just paste into your mail to insert a graphic. If you use "Paste and Match Style" in Apple's Mail (or similar in your mail app), a description of the design is inserted.
