I received a customer feedback that the new menus of StitchBuddy HD 3.3 for thread colors, charts and hoops are obscuring the current design, so applied changes cannot be seen without closing the menu - a fair point!
My first thought was an option to collapse menus when needed, and a beta version published yesterday was reflecting this idea.
Well, after performing some more usability tests I was still not happy with this solution. I wanted to keep visibility of the design while changes were applied. Unfortunately the menus were not only obscuring the design - therefore the toggle option - but the underlaying view was also dimmed…
Apple's Pages app is using popup views mixed with the new menus, so I decided for the same approach: Hoops, colors, thread charts and even view options are presented in popups (as they were already in StitchBuddy HD 2.x) with again a good visibility of the current design.
This change is incorporated into the new beta version StitchBuddy HD 3.3.1 (2875) - ready for testing. Please refer to this discussion if you're interested in becoming a beta tester.
