Hello! I'm new to Stitch Buddy. Is there a user guide or new user tutorial that will walk me through the program?

There isn't a single tutorial specifically for new users, covering all basic steps at one location, but I have published some information over the time which might be helpful. Here's a short summary what I would consult - and in which order:

Both apps (on macOS and iOS) are coming with integrated Help Sections. While the iOS help is mostly an overview of functions, the help in StitchBuddy for Mac is more comprehensive: It covers basics as well as details like using measurement units or creating shapes. In addition it's searchable and often linked in relevant parts of the app, e.g. when exporting to USB.
StitchBuddy's website has dedicated support pages for macOS and iOS: Here you'll find e.g. Video Tutorials I've created over time. I apologize for the awful and embarrassing audio tracks of the early ones, but they still might be helpful as StitchBuddy's user concept hasn't changed so much.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are also listed on the support pages, and as these are constantly maintained chances are high to find some helpful answers there.
The mentioned video tutorials are part of a YouTube playlist you might want to visit. But every video is also linked in the section above, and YouTube comments aren't the best communication channel - see below. So just mentioned for the sake of completeness…
This User Forum is a good place to raise questions and search for information - although it has just started recently and will certainly evolve. Probably the best way to reach people with some experience and maybe similar questions or problems. And definitely an option to give knowledge back to the community.
And last but not least you can always reach out to me by mail, and I try to answer individual questions the best I can.

I hope you don't mind me moving this discussion into the "Tips & Tricks" category and even pinning it: I'm pretty sure it helps others with the same question…

Some days ago I published a new video tutorial for StitchBuddy HD 3.3 (currently still beta): Although it mainly addresses the new file management capabilities, some basics are covered as well: Open designs, select and move stitches, merge embroideries, colorize EXP / DST files etc.

I strongly recommend to watch this video to make yourself familiar with StitchBuddy HD for iOS / iPadOS…

Hi! I know it's a little early, but I'm testing macOS 15 Sequoia and I have found that previews on Quick Look no longer work, because QL generator plugins are deprecated and this new OS is removing dropping their support. Can you have a plan on this, please?

Good catch, and appreciate the heads-up: Yes, macOS 15 "Sequoia" will remove Quick Look support and apps have to use Preview / Thumbnail extensions to provide content previews.

Apple's documentation states in Sequoia Beta 3 Release Notes: "Support for deprecated Quick Look Generator plugins is being removed. To provide previews and thumbnails for your custom file types, migrate to Quick Look Preview Extension and Thumbnail Extension API. (116791365)".

StitchBuddy HD on iOS is already using these APIs, and I will ensure a smooth transition on macOS by adjusting my priorities. Thanks again 🙂

Just a quick update: Today I looked into this topic and a thumbnail extension is already working. The preview is more complex and will take some more time to develop and test. But I'm pretty confident in a timely solution and I'd like to run a public beta test with this update. Expect some posting in the corresponding forum section once I'm done…
