Not being a native speaker, I like to pick your brains for a correct technical term of the needle position where a stitch ends:
As you all know every embroidery stitch is defined by a needle movement, where at its end the needle is either penetrating the fabric ("regular stitch") or not ("jump stitch"). I'm looking for the correct technical term of this end position - which should be brief enough to be used e.g. for menu items. Here are some ideas I have (and why I'm struggling with them):
- "Penetration Point" - The needle isn't always penetrating the fabric
- "Stitch Point" - Seems to be related to cross-stitch
- "Needle Point" - Isn't that the tip of a needle?
- "Needle Position" - The needle has various positions, this is only the final one of a stitch
- "Stitch End Position" - Sounds just right, but way too long for a menu item or any brief description
I'm racking my brain around this term, so every idea is much appreciated!
