By default Apple‘s App Store is only offering the most recent version of an app - and due to technical dependencies StitchBuddy cannot be installed from a different distribution channel
But there might be an option if you have already installed an app in the past: Navigate with the old Mac to the App Store’s purchase history of your account, where StitchBuddy should be listed. There is an option to download the app, and the last compatible version is automatically installed.
To be transparent, I never used this method myself, just know it from hearsay - although I mentioned it to a different customer some time ago (without getting any response). It would be great to learn if this procedure actually works…
Edit: I just searched in my support mail archive, and this option was confirmed to work…
